Winter Chill!!!
Brrrrr.. it has been cold lately with a lot of ice and a lot of snow! This past week has been a bit crazy with the city practically shutting down for two days. It was nice to stay home with the family for a midweek adventure but going without power for a day stank. Cameron was a trooper and loved spending time with us and my parents during the week.
Monday night, the ice storm started and our power ended up going out around 11:30pm. My dad came to pick us up and take us to his house where they still had power. They lost power the following night but thankfully dad bought a propane heater and we closed off the living room. Wednesday afternoon I learned the power was back on at our house and my dad brought us home. Cameron had a blast having a two night slumber party and mamaw and papaws house!
A few snowy pictures~!

Lately, Cameron has learned quite a few new words per day. It's amazing how fast children build their vocabularies. We have to be super careful what we say around him because he WILL repeat anything you say! He is definitely showing that he is Mr. Independent. He will sit and play by himself for an hour and we won't hear a peep from him. While it is nice to have a few moments to get stuff down around the house, it makes me sad that he doesn't need my constant attention anymore. He is growing up way to fast for my liking!
Playing!!!
He has also turned into quite the little lover. He loves to give hugs and kisses when asked and sometimes sneaks up to give eskimo kisses, which he finds absolutely hilarious. Below, Cameron gives daddy a sweet Cam kiss.

This past month we purchased a toddler bed and bedding set for Cam so we can turn his playroom into his "big boy" room. We of course went with a colorful Yo Gabba Gabba theme! Cameron loves to point out his favorite characters on the bedding!
Cam's "Big Boy" room!
He's a happy little fella!!!!
We are definitely looking forward to some warmer weather so we can go outside and play! Hopefully spring is right around the corner. Until next time.. here are a few more of my favorite recent pictures of Cameron.
These baby blues melt me!
Such a silly little thing

2011.. Here we come!
2010 was a very busy year for the Freihaut family with ups and downs, but mostly ups! We had a wonderful holiday this year and spent time with lots of friends and family! Thanksgiving was spent at my grandparents house and then the whirlwind of Christmas came. It was so exciting to watch Cameron experience Christmas this year as an 18 month old. I think that Cory and I had more fun than he did! From the moment we put up the Christmas tree his eyes sparkled a little brighter with the holiday spirit. I was worried about him and the Christmas tree but other than taking a few ornaments down per day it was overall very successful. Wrapping presents on the other hand was a more difficult task with a toddler and some had to be rewrapped because Cameron thought the boxes were for climbing on. I will try to do a little recap of all of our holiday activities!
The weekend before Christmas we headed to Southern Indiana and stayed with Cory's dad before the annual Freihaut family Christmas on his dad's side of the family. It was great to see them since we do not get to very often. Saturday morning Cory, Cameron, and I went into Santa Claus to visit the shops and see all of the Christmas decorations. Cory and I got new stockings at the Christmas Store and we all picked out this years family ornament for the tree and had it personalized. We took Cam to eat pizza and had a lot of fun. It is not very often the three of us have the time to actually go out and enjoy an afternoon together! We headed back to Cory's dads so Cam could get a short nap in before going to Booneville to Cory's cousin's house for the party. We were able to visit with a lot of family and afterwards drove home that night so Cam could sleep in the car.
On Christmas Eve, Cory's mom came to stay with us and we all went to my Aunt's house to play euchre and eat! When we got home, Cameron set out a plate of cookies and glass of milk for Santa and then hit the sack! Christmas morning, my parents and sister came over and along with Sally watched Cameron open up his Christmas presents!

Christmas morning.. Cam seeing the tree for the first time.
Cam got a lot of really neat presents from Santa and it was fun to watch him open up his gifts. Santa even left Cameron a note thanking him for the cookies and milk. For lunch, we headed to my grandma's house and ate lots of yummy food. Afterward was present time! Cam got to open his up first because it was getting to be nap time. That evening, we headed to my parent's house for gifts with them! Cameron got way too much stuff and we ended up taking down our tree Christmas night to make room for all the new toys!
The Monday evening after Christmas, Cory's dad came up to visit and bring Cameron's gifts. He made Cameron a gorgeous rocking chair!

Cam and Mommy checking out his new rocking horse!
Last night was New Year's Eve and the plan was to go down to Cory's moms in Evansville to meet up with his brothers! Unfortunately, I got sick in the car just out of town and we decided it would be better for me to stay home so I didn't get any of the kids sick. Cory and Cameron brought me home then headed back down!
December brought us snow this year and Cameron, while a little leery at first, really enjoyed playing in the snow!

Cam and the snowman in papaw's yard!

We are really looking forward to 2011 and seeing what it brings to our family! Cameron is changing daily and learning new things and it will continue to be amazing to watch him evolve into a little boy! We have been surprised by how large his vocabulary has grown so quickly. Here to wishing everyone we know and love a very Happy and Healthy 2011!

It's finally feeling like the holidays!
It's time to get into the Christmas Spirit in the Freihaut household! We are planning on putting up our Christmas tree this evening. While I can't wait for the tree to go up, I can definitely wait for Cameron's recent path of destruction to take it down! This past week we broke out the Christmas books to get Cam excited about the holidays! His favorite book by far is the one Grandpa and Grandma O'Brien and Aunt Whitney gave him last year of them reading him 'The Night Before Christmas'. He loves hearing them read to him through the book. Whenever he hears my dad's voice reading her says "Nana" and looks at the door thinking he is here. No matter how hard my dad has tried to teach Cam papaw.. he is just plain Nana to Cam! It is pretty funny.

Cam listening to 'The Night Before Christmas'
Last Saturday, Cameron and I went to my mom's house for our annual Christmas Cookie day! Cam got to visit with all of his cousins (except Nate who had a football game) and had a blast "decorating" the cookies. Cam's idea of decorating was more of un-decorating them and eating the toppings. His favorite treat of the day were Craisins. Needless to say I went out and bought him some the next day! Below is our favorite cookie we made.. Brobee!!!

Cameron's vocabulary continues to increase and he amazes me each day with what he says. He has started to string two words together and will ask "What's that?" and most recently he told me "Mama poo" after he did the deed. I love watching him talk more and understand more of what we say to him. He is very into singing and dancing and sang me a song this morning about a dog and a duc.. quack quack quack. It's adorable I must say.
What is not so adorable is his desire to destroy anything in his path! Which brings me back to the Christmas tree. I have thought about putting an enclosure around the tree but then I thought he's a toddler.. I should let him and ourselves experience his toddlerhood to the fullest! So I fully expect to be rehanging ornaments and rewrapping presents daily but that's ok because I want him to experience everything Christmas at his current destructive way! Should be interested to say the least!
I will leave you with a few more pics to ogle over until next time when I update our tree went through the front window or something!
After taking the humidifier apart and getting water everywhere!

"Roar"... our little lion cub! He is such a ham!
Helping mommy "mulch" the grass! Such a big helper ha ha!

Down goes the toddler!
Cam just took a nose dive, literally. Poor little guy has a pretty cut on his perfectly adorable little nose. This is due to Cameron climbing everything!!! The kid is unstoppable but oh so lovable. A few days ago I attempted to give Cam his first unofficial haircut. I think I did a pretty good job considering I was terrified of stabbing a wiggling toddler while wielding scissors. At least he isn't constantly frightening me with a possible ear infection every time he messes with his ears due to his hair tickling him.
Everyday he amazes me and I love him more than I ever imagined possible. His sweet little kisses and "mamas" get me every time.
A big shout out to all the veterans past, present, and future! Happy Veteran's Day!
Helping Aunt Whitty with her homework. Yea my
kid does college level work already!! haha
Love to all!

It's November Already?
I can't believe it is November already! It seems like this year has just flown by! The past couple of weeks have been so much fun with Cam. He is definitely "talking" more and thinks he is invincible! He had a lot of fun on Halloween dressed up as a dinosaur! I must say, he was the cutest stinking dino I ever saw! On the 29th we ventured out of the neighborhood to take Cameron trick or treating at my family's houses. Saturday night we pulled him in his wagon around the neighborhood! He had fun and mommy and daddy are enjoying the candy he can't eat!
Today, it is just Cam and I on our own. Cory went to Bloomington, IL to help his brother move into their new house! I can't wait to visit and see it! Cam and I are are going to a baby shower later and then to a wedding reception this evening. It should be a fun day!
Since it is November, I suppose it is time to start getting ready for Christmas! Thankfully, I already have pretty much all of Cam's Christmas done! We are still trying to figure out what we are going to do about the tree. I have a feeling it will be Cameron's favorite new "toy" and will cause some problems.. We thought about a baby fence or something to put around it but I'm not sure what we are going to do.
A little snack time dance on the picnic table!
Cameron's new thing is that he always wants to "read" his books. He just brought me one so I better wrap this up! Will update soon!

My baby is a toddler!
I know it has been months since I have updated the blog but I couldn't bring myself to write about one of the things that happened to our family. Sadly, I suffered a miscarriage near the beginning of August. It was the hardest thing I have ever been through and it has taken quite some time to feel comfortable mentioning it. While we are saddened and heartbroken, we know that God has a plan for everyone and that the miscarriage was in our plan. We look forward to keep trying to expand our family and give Cameron a little brother or sister.
On to happier news! Our baby isn't so much a baby anymore! Cameron is up and all over the place over the past few months. We have loved watching him take his first few tentative steps that turned into awkward baby toddles. Since about 14 months, Cam has been an expert walker and runs around like a crazy boy! He has learned so much in the past couple of months and it amazes me the new things he discovers he can do each and every day. He knows quite a few body parts now like nose, belly, toes, ears, and is recognizing others. He is also an expert block builder but his favorite thing to do is knock down block towers! He is also saying many more words than before. In addition to mama and dada, he knows dog, hi, bye, "who is it" when someone opens the door at daycare, huh, no, block, and a few more. It's amazing how even when he talks not real words how we can sometimes understands what he means by his movements and tone of his voice.
This past weekend Cory and I along with my parents took Cam to Pumpkin Works. Cam loved playing in the straw maze and going through tunnels and slides. It actually turned out to be quite a cheap activity since the only thing we spent money on was two tickets for me and Cory to take Cam through the corn maze. Cameron got to sit in a wagon while we pulled him in the maze. He wasn't so sure about the corn being so tall at first but then started to enjoy the wagon ride. We got pretty lost but thanks to my (Courtney) awesome navigational skills we made it out! Cameron also got to try pumkin ice cream for the first time there. He loved it! He also loved the bites of mamaw and papaw O'Brien's ice cream flavors that he cleverly got to taste! It was definitely a fun trip and the weather was perfect for it!
The most exciting thing we have done lately was to go to the Yo Gabba Gabba Live! show last night in Indianapolis. We were a little nervous about taking him since he is so young. We thought he might get scared or fall asleep, but he absolutely loved it! The first 15 minutes of the show he kind of just sat and stared at the stage like he couldn't believe what he was seeing, but after that he danced and clapped in his seat the rest of the show. Mommy and daddy also really enjoyed the show! Cameron made out pretty good from the gift kiosks too. He got a new shirt, a cd, a brobee keychain and a poster for the playroom! He also got to take home one of the balloons that kept bonking him in the head lol. Overall, it was a great time and I am thankful that my parents bought the tickets so we could take him!
I have a lot of pictures from the past couple of months and I will try to upload some by the end of the weekend! As always, I promise to try and post more often but it seems we just get so busy that I completely forget about the blog. I would like to eventually be able to take 10 minutes each day just to write a recap of what is going on but things will have to slow down a bit for me to get to that point, especially with big holidays coming up the next two months!
Pictures coming soon.....!!!!!
